The College started in 1953 with 8 students on roll has completed 65 years of educational service. Today comprising of Intermediate, Degree and Post Graduation courses it has 4059 students on roll. The milestones of development are

1953The College established with 8 students.
1954The College expands with introduction of arts section at PUC level.
1958Launch of B.A. and B.Sc. courses.
1971Launch of B.Com, B.Sc. H.Sc., B.A. Social Work and first PG Course –M.A. Economics.
1979A new campus spruced up to house the degree courses, the intermediate section housed inseparate campus.
1987Conferment of autonomy by UGC.
1988Five NSS Units launched taking community service to the heights.
1997First NAAC Accreditation with A***** status. 1st College in A.P. and 8th College in the Country to undergo assessment.
2003College celebrates the golden jubilee of its establishment.
2004Credit system launched to make evaluation mechanism innovative and need-based. Community College was introduced.
2005II Cycle of NAAC Accreditation with A Grade -88.5% score.
2006College conferred College with Potential for Excellence (CPE) award by UGC.
2012III Cycle of NAAC Accreditation with a Grade – 3.43 CGPA.
2013College celebrated the diamond jubilee of its establishment.
2014Launched Community College and B.Voc. Programs with UGC assistance.
20174th Cycle of NAAC Accreditation with A+ Grade – 3.56 CGPA.
2019MHRD Recognizes the college with the status " COLLEGE OF EXCELLENCE " & "CAREER HUB" Was digitally launched by Shri.Prime Minister
          Narendra Modi Ji. Obtained ISO 9001:2015 Certification for College.
2020College is categorized as 'Band A' institution (rank between 06-25) in category of in Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievement           (ARIIA) 2020 announced on 18th Aug 2020.
2021Obtained ISO 5001:2011 & 14001: 2015 Certification and Certified in Good Hygiene Practices - HYM
2023College Ranked as Band-Performer-ARIIA 2022.
2023Best college Award from Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.
          UGC Extended the Autonomy for another 10 years.
